“I always get the question, ‘Why do you love working here?’ For me, the number one thing is the people. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some of the most gifted people, not only within telco but in any industry. I wouldn’t be who I am today, professionally or personally, without the lessons they’ve taught me along the way.”

When Russell Turner first joined our family of brands in 2003, it was as a casual retail worker to support his studies in primary education. But he quickly realised that this was the place he wanted to be and has stayed ever since! Now as our General Manager - Consumer Sales, Russell’s proud to say joining TPG Telecom was the best decision he’s ever made.

Here, he’s met his wife and best friends and grown a remarkable career, and he credits it all to TPG, where he’s able to show up as his authentic self and thrive in our supportive community. Russell has seen countless others find the same sense of belonging, enabling them to change their careers and lives for the better.

“We’re all very different people, but there are common threads that make you a great fit at TPG. There’s a sense of humility in our approach - it’s not about one individual; it’s about the TPG team as a whole. I see leadership as being able to impact others, and I truly believe that everyone can be a leader in our business because we all impact each other in a good way.”

"Not many organisations would give you those opportunities. When I see the Eureka Building in Melbourne, or the Coca-Cola building and the King’s Cross precinct in Sydney, I think about the part I played in their network transformation. Internally, I helped with the Finance Transformation post-merger, which involved migrating legacy TPG systems to the cloud. I was part of that."

Aman Kaur thrives in dynamic environments, so it’s no surprise that since joining us in 2015, she hasn’t sat still for a second. Aman has taken her talents to a wide variety of teams, including mobile and fixed networks infrastructure, legal and business intelligence. She’s worked on-site watching infrastructure come to life and online leading her own team from a different state!

Finding her perfect fit as a Program Manager, Aman has relished the opportunities she’s been given to take charge and own her career journey with TPG. Plus, she’s been supported with the tools and mentorship to take her career to new heights.

“I've been quite lucky. I’ve heard people joke about the seven-year itch or various downsides of being with the same organisation for so long, but I’ve never felt that. Especially since the merger, our culture is so different. It feels like working for a brand-new company. I don’t necessarily realise how long I’ve been here because there’s always something new to try or a new challenge to overcome."

“I choose to be at TPG because I love working for a company that wants to be better. I love change, and I think that’s a shared attitude no matter what role you’re in within our business. I started my time here working casually in a store while I was studying to be a primary school teacher, but I realised this is what I want to do because I loved how willing this organisation was, and still is, to embrace change.”

“If I think about the industry we work in, I think that change is inevitable. It’s across all fronts - the technology we work with, what we’re selling and what our customers want to buy - they expect us to change for the better. So, we do. We’re always transforming; there’s no end date on that. There’s always a job to be done, and we’re doing the work right now to redesign our future."

“My Dad always told me, ‘If you speak with honey in your mouth, that will make you sweet and kind and no one will want to say no to you.’ I do that with all of my customers every day, but it paid off in ways I never imagined. I’d been working with a client who was the sole director of almost 100 medical practices located all over Australia. Because they were acquired over time, only 30 sites were connected with TPG, and the rest were with other providers.”

Through helping out in her family’s small business, Sandra Deluca knew what it meant to deliver excellent customer service from an early age. She’s spent decades TPG EBAmplify | Themed Story | June 2024 2 putting her skills to use, growing a remarkable career in the telecommunications industry, but what she’s most proud of is the relationships she’s built along the way.

Now as an Account Manager with TPG Telecom, Sandra continues to nurture loyalty among her 300-plus clients through the strength of connection - personally and through our network. Connecting customers, businesses and communities is what we do best, and Sandra is a prime example of how our impact really matters.

“Over the course of a year, I was at his beck and call, always on the other end of the phone if he had any questions about the service. And one day, he called me up and told me he wanted to consolidate all of the sites to our network because we had built a really strong relationship and he trusted me to look after his practices. That’s been one of my biggest success stories at TPG.”
