Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage
Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage (REACH)
Our vision for Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage is to establish a culturally safe environment where the richness of race, ethnicity, and cultural heritage is celebrated and barriers such as racism and discrimination are eliminated.
We recognise the role we can play in advancing racial equality in Australia and seek to address systemic and behavioural change. This includes regularly reviewing our anti-discrimination provisions, ensuring inclusive hiring practices and providing training and awareness to employees and leaders.
How we support and celebrate racial equality:
Cultural respect, safety and protocols
Our Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage (REACH) Network supports with embedding cultural respect and protocols through cultural events, communications, stories and educational resources. Our Diwali Celebrations is an example of how we do this.
Flex for Cultural Commitments
Our Flex to Thrive policy enables employees to manage their working schedules around religious and cultural commitments. There are many different flexible work options available including flexible work hours, days or locations.
Your Leave
We also provide Your Leave, up to an additional four days per year, intended to support employees to achieve a better work life balance or to participate in religious or cultural activities of significance, as well as attend events such as NAIDOC week.
Spaces for Prayer
We offer prayer spaces in various office locations and provide flexibility to support employee’s prayer time.
